State Legislators (and State Legislative Analysts)
Work Hard into Early Summer
Though Congress has gotten most of the press this year, what with the economic crisis and subsequent stimulus debate, state lawmakers across the country have had a busy year thus far, having proposed and discussed upwards of 150,000 bills -- everything from tome-like budget-slashing bills to one-paragraph local proposals. We've been busy at StateScape as well, tracking, to date, around 59,000 of those measures (more than one-third of the total) for our clients on a myriad of topics -- from taxes and information technology to the environment, civil rights, and healthcare...and many things in between. In tracking hundreds of issues for our clients, we've reviewed nearly all introduced legislation to ensure that our clients are made aware of items crucial to them as quickly as possible. New Home for StateScape
In December 2007, after 15 years of residence in modern high-rise office complexes, StateScape moved into an historic row house in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Two centuries ago, George Washington roamed these streets, but, to date, we have no evidence that he did, in fact, sleep here.

Map It! Reports
mapitreports.jpg
StateScape is the first and only state legislative and regulatory research firm to offer the functionality of creating maps on specific issues. Map It! allows you to look at legislative and regulatory activity via a map you can really see where an issue is the most prevalent.

To create your own maps, just select the Map It! option in the Formatting section of either LegisTrack or RegsTrack. Map It! works with the other criteria, but displays the results of your search graphically as a map. Subsequently, you can click on a state and generate a report containing that state`s bills in your preferred format. Like any of the options available via LegisTrack or RegsTrack, Map It! may be incorporated into a profile link. You can then copy these links over to your colleagues` StateScape accounts or post them on the member portion of your website.

If you are not already a StateScape client, but would like to create maps on your issues, feel free to contact us for pricing.
